future is spotless despite filth of the past

regardless of how filthy your past has been, your future is still spotless. Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Each day is a new beginning & every morning we wake up is the first day of the rest of our life ~ Carly McCarthy

Passing the baton....

I don't think Congress is about any type of change at all. "If the opposite of pro is con, what's the opposite of progress?"-- this isn't just a great bumper sticker, it's truth.
It doesn't matter how many times the baton has changed hands, or what color it is, or how big that baton gets...it's still a fucking baton. And frankly, I'm sick of getting beat to death with it,
and seeing my brothers and sisters get beat to death with it, and seeing even bigger batons killing people all over this globe in the name of democracy, terrorism, nation building, [insert other bullshit tactic here].
Now, I'm no politician or general, but when I see that 90% of casualties in wars since WWII have been civilians, something tells me in my being that the way things in this CURRENT system (which, let's be truthful, is THE system man has taken since he figured out he could get more food with a bigger club) is fucked up.
I dream of brighter days, but I only see them if *radical* change takes place.
Unfortunately, this view seems too, well, radical for people to even discuss, much less contemplate and act on.
If I'm crazy for saying that, I take that as a compliment, because if what-we're-doing-now is *normal*, then I don't want to be sane.
And I hope you don't take ANY of this personal in ANY way whatsoever (knowing you, I know you won't)...just another crazy rant from Jennifer Bias
